EDGUY Schedules Hometown Gigs
December 3, 2006EDGUY frontman Tobias Sammet has issued the following update:
"On February 23rd and 24th, EDGUY will headline two shows at the Wartenberg Oval in Fulda, Angersbach [Germany]. The special guests will be announced soon. Get your tickets at www.ticketonline.com or at the office of Fuldaer Zeitung (phone + 49 661 280644). Tickets are available for one show only (€20, plus fee) and for both nights (€30, 26 plus fee). Tickets for both nights are non-transferable.
"During the last twelve months, we've played to well over half a million people all over the world. We just want to celebrate a successful tour in our hometown and say 'thank you' to those first fans who've helped us from day one and made this all possible!!! We're going play some different songs each night, so we get the chance to play some tracks we've never played live before.
"Some years ago when we've already sold out places in some parts of Europe we still struggled in our hometown and therefore tried to avoid playing that conservative little black spot on the map, because it seemed like the majority of people didn't care anyway. 'Cause we were just those stupid kids who couldn't play progressive music. Well, I still can't, I never wanted, I can count to four and tell stupid jokes, that's enough to rock and roll... ;-)
"Well, as for lack of support the last tour proved us wrong and looking back without the grudges we've held at the time, I think there've always been supporters and friends. Now we'll be back with a special show and a bang that nobody won't ever forget. Sao Paulo, Tokyo, Mexico City... Fulda!!! We're back!"
As previously reported, EDGUY filmed a live DVD on November 3 at the Credicard Hall in São Paulo, Brazil. The band is continuing to tour in support of its latest album, "Rocket Ride", which entered the German national album chart at position No. 8 upon its release in late January 2006. The CD also came in at No. 8 in Sweden, No. 25 in Finland, No. 32 in Hungary, No. 48 in Japan, No. 50 in Switzerland, No. 50 in Austria, No. 79 in Norway and No. 81 in Italy.
